US Stocks Rise, Led By Materials, Energy; DJIA Up 66

SACRAMENTO, Calif. June 8, 2010 - Keith Springer discusses the effects of the global market instability on the United States gold market.

According to MarketWatch reporter, Donna Kardos, "Investors are also becoming increasingly concerned about an upcoming Spanish bond offering. The Spanish Treasury on Monday said it would auction EUR3 billion to EUR4 billion of three-year government bonds Thursday. Credit Agricole CIB noted that with the 2013 bucket already a heavily tapped part of the Spanish curve, absorption of the bond "will not be easy and will likely to continue to weigh post auction."

"The worries helped boost investors' demand for gold, which has been trading as a safety asset," Kardos continued.

"Gold is acting like a third currency or a hedge against the crisis," said Keith Springer, president of Capital Financial Advisory Services. "I wouldn't be surprised if gold could be in a topping pattern here," since the economy faces little threat from inflation, he said.
